Rhode Island lays its own claims to the phrase, so we’re not all that worried about Reno! (& we do hope you come back for more!)
I love Providence but “the biggest little city” is the slogan for Reno, Nevada.
This is awesome.
It’s so great to see so many people working to promote our wonderful city. Here’s a link to “The People’s Confessions” — a 15-minute film a lot of us made together to confess our love for Providence.

Attention all transplanted New Yorkers living in Providence: we started 212 Providence, a networking group. Our first event will be 3/26 at the State Lounge, #1 Throop Alley (behind Olive’s off N. Main Street) from 5:30-7:30p. Music by Tribeca at 7:00 p.m. Please check-out our Facebook and Meetup.com pages. We’ll be raising money for Adopt a Doctor. http://www.adoptadoctor.org
Providence is for Losers.
I created the website Kidoinfo.com (parents guide: providence and beyond) to bring together everything that is wonderful about Providence (and the Rhode Island area) for families.
Kidoinfo connects the parenting community online and off. We talk about how Providence is a great place to live with kids - we share info about schools, local happenings and more.
And if you do not live in the area, we let you know what you can do when you visit.
As a Rhode Island native who deserted the suburbs for the city, it does my heart a lot of good to see someone as passionate about this place as you are. It seems like I spend all my time these days telling my friends in other cities about this place, but none of ‘em ever believe me!
Oh my. I guess that’s it — it’s settled. Time to evacuate. Save us a seat!! Providence Twenty-Ten is alive and well!!
My son is a sophomore at Brown and LOVES Providence…spent last summer interning and hopes to stay again this summer…he comments that Providence is just “the right size” city…and hopes to stay after graduation…
nice plug in today’s New York Times — keep up the great work….
Stop spilling the beans!!! We want Providence all to ourselves…
Great website, tho. Just don’t let anyone know about it, ok?
greatness.

I adore Providence. I work here, but do not live here full-time, although
I would love to. I lived in Florence, Italy for a couple of years, returning for many summers….and I see some similarities.
I think the cultural ambiance of Providence is really interesting and
accessible. I think it stimulates engagement and invention.
It is unique and beautiful.
